The Judith Antione Shanley Foundation was organized in 2014 to continue this legacy. Judy was a victim of the #1 killer of all cancers, lung cancer. She was treated by an incredible team of doctors and researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. Judy was involved in raising money for lung cancer research during her lifetime and it was her wish that it continue in her name after her life was over.
All funds raised by this foundation for lung cancer research are given to the Thoracic Oncology Team at Massachusetts General Hospital. This team is led by Dr. Alice Shaw, MD, PhD. Dr. Shaw is an attending physician in the Center for Thoracic Cancers at Massachusetts General Hospital and an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School..
